McConnell & Jones Merges In North Carolina Firm

Looking to expand its presence in the Southeast, Houston-based IPA 300 firm McConnell & Jones LLP (FY21 net revenue of $16.6 million) is merging in Thomas & Gibbs CPAs PLLC of Durham, N.C.

Founded in 2001, Thomas & Gibbs provides audit, tax and advisory/consulting services to individuals, non-profit organizations, publicly traded and privately held companies, as well as state, local and federal clients throughout North Carolina and across the country. The firm’s broad array of services includes client accounting services and benefit plan audits. As part of the deal, Ken Gibbs and Shawana Hudson Spann will be admitted as partners at McConnell & Jones.

“We are pleased to join forces with Ken and Shawana, as they bring decades of experience to the firm,” says McConnell & Jones MP Wayne McConnell. “During the past year we have gotten to know them personally and professionally, and I am confident that this merger will provide boundless opportunity for their people and greater resources for their clients.”
