Doeren Mayhew Acquires Fellow Michigan Firm

Troy, Mich.-based IPA 100 firm Doeren Mayhew (FY21 net revenue of $94.6 million) is merging in Kaplan Merzlak PC of West Bloomfield, Mich.

Kaplan Merzlak has provided accounting, tax and consulting services to a client base consisting of privately held companies and high-net-worth individuals for more than 35 years. As part of the deal, the firm’s team will relocate to Doeren Mayhew’s headquarters and shareholders Jeffrey Kaplan and Eric Merzlak will join the Doeren Mayhew leadership team.

“Continuing to grow in the Michigan market will always be a priority for Doeren Mayhew,” says managing shareholder Chad Anschuetz. “Kaplan Merzlak is an outstanding firm, with great people and an impressive roster of successful clients. This partnership allows us to scale up in our local region, while still remaining focused on serving privately held entities.”
