Chicago-based IPA 100 firm Crowe (FY23 net revenue of $1.3 billion) is strengthening its professional standards team with the hire of Jeffrey Schaeffer as partner in its national office.
The national office leads the development of perspectives and points of view to inform stakeholders including policymakers, regulators and the profession. It works with the standard-setting and regulatory bodies on activities that impact the accounting profession. As part of his role, Schaeffer will support Crowe’s expanding accounting advisory services client portfolio.
Schaeffer brings with him a distinguished career in accounting, regulatory and advisory services, with deep accounting industry expertise in several areas including technology, media and telecom (TMT), fintech, energy and capital markets. He has also held a senior position in a Big 4 firm leading efforts on a broad array of U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting matters, in addition to a role at the SEC in the Office of the Chief Accountant.
“Jeff’s expertise will significantly enhance our ability to serve both existing and new clients by helping to navigate complex financial reporting and regulatory issues,” says Matthew Schell, MP at the national office. “Jeff’s impeccable credentials, extensive experience and industry knowledge will help strengthen Crowe’s thought-leadership on accounting issues facing our clients and our profession.”
Schaeffer says, “I look forward to harnessing my experience to collaborate with clients and colleagues to drive successful outcomes to the accounting and financial challenges that businesses face today and into the future.”
