Decker
Chicago-based IPA 100 firm Grant Thornton LLP (FY22 net revenue of $2.3 billion) has added to its audit quality and risk practice leadership team, appointing Kendra Decker as national MP of the firm’s professional practice and Graham Dyer as chief accountant and PIC of the firm’s accounting principles group.
Decker joined Grant Thornton in 1997 and has more than 25 years of financial reporting, accounting and auditing experience. She has held various leadership roles within the firm, including PIC of SEC regulatory matters. In her new role – which she assumes from audit partner Mary Ropes, who is retiring after more than 35 years at the firm – Decker will be responsible for leading the firm’s various professional practices, including accounting principles, independence, SEC regulatory matters and the professional practice director group.
Dyer
Dyer joined the firm in 2005 and has nearly 20 years of technical accounting and auditing experience, including working on complex accounting transactions, particularly with regard to consolidation and variable interest entities, financial instruments, business combinations and fair value. In his new role – which he assumes from audit partner Lynne Triplett, who is retiring after more than 17 years at the firm – Dyer will be responsible for ensuring Grant Thornton’s engagement teams and clients continue to have access to the firm’s acumen, thought leadership and training on technical accounting standards.
