The California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) has named Meredith Johnson as the new chair of its board of directors.
A partner at IPA 100 firm BPM LLP, Johnson has more than 20 years of experience working at financial advisory firms and public accounting. At BPM, she provides tax compliance and consulting services to a diverse base of individuals, trusts and business entities.
“Meredith has a legacy of service to her firm and CalCPA,” says CalCPA CEO Denise LeDuc Froemming. “We look forward to her passion for her career and the profession to lead CalCPA.”
In assuming her new role, Johnson says she will focus on redefining the CPA profession and career opportunities, creating an inclusive environment and addressing the challenge of attracting and retaining talent.
“I like to think of the CPA pipeline as a highway with a variety of on-ramps,” she says. “As a leader in the profession, CalCPA has the capacity and resources to positively impact the on-ramps available for future CPAs.”
