Ernie Gini, a founding partner of Macias Gini & O’Connell – which would eventually become IPA 100 firm MGO LLP – passed away on March 12 at the age of 71.
As noted in his obituary in the Sacramento Bee, Gini was an avid runner who completed the American River 50-Mile Endurance Run for his 50th birthday. And even after an automobile accident shortly thereafter that left him a quadriplegic, Gini continued to work and travel extensively.
Calling Gini “a fun-loving, magnetic and inspiring leader,” the firm said in statement that “while sad to learn of his passing, we take joy in knowing the legacy he left behind, here at MGO and beyond.”
