Atlanta-based IPA 100 firm Aprio (FY23 net revenue of $420.8 million) announces that Kayla Kania, lead government contracting assurance partner, will become the Mid-Atlantic regional leader, effective Jan. 1.
Based in Rockville, Md., Kayla will assume responsibility for operations, client service and growth across the Mid-Atlantic region, succeeding Lexy Kessler, who has successfully led the region since 2023. Kessler will remain a partner and will support the accounting profession as vice chair of the AICPA.
Kania is widely admired for her ability to engage and motivate teams and build sustainable growth. In this new role, she will oversee the day-to-day management of the region, strategic growth, and uphold Aprio’s commitment to exceptional client service. She will also continue to manage her government contracting practice, helping companies navigate the challenges of doing business with the U.S. government, supporting clients at each stage of their business lifecycle.
“Kayla is a recognized leader in the region, with deep relationships in the Washington metro area,” said Richard Kopelman, CEO of Aprio. “We are grateful for Lexy Kessler’s outstanding leadership and the strong foundation she has helped build. With Kayla’s strategic and pragmatic leadership style, our region will continue to thrive and deliver outstanding service to our clients and community.”
