San Antonio-based IPA 400 firm ATKG (FY23 13.95 million) has joined forces with firm SPR on Nov 1. With the addition of SPR, ATKG now boasts a team of approximately 150 professionals, including 15 partners.
“Our pairing creates a more robust, people-centric accounting and advisory firm. Together, we’re better positioned to serve our people and our clients,” said Eric Abati, ATKG’s CEO. “For both ATKG and SPR, it’s always been about the people. We have the same idea that if we take really good care of our people, then our people will take really good care of our clients.”
“As part of ATKG, our talent will have even greater opportunities to grow, which is really exciting. And our clients will benefit from expanded service offerings and enhanced technical depth,” said Michael Perkins, MP of SPR. “Both firms approach business the same way. We care deeply about our people and our clients. By joining forces, we’re stronger together. Now we have the scale and resources to bring even more value to the market. Plus, with ATKG as a growth partner, we’re better positioned to stay nimble and seize new opportunities.”
ATKG is a partner firm on the Ascend growth platform, backed by Alpine Investors. Ascend’s platform enables regional accounting firms with strong leadership, great cultures and a bold vision to remain independent while accessing the resources of a larger firm to overcome the challenges of the traditional CPA partnership model and to reach their full potential.
“We’re incredibly proud of our 42-year history in San Antonio,” Abati said. “Our deep roots in south Texas are a key reason we have been privileged to enjoy such long-term relationships with our clients. Now, with SPR on our team, our capabilities are stronger than ever, and our future in Texas is even brighter.”
