Springfield, Ill.-based IPA 200 firm Kerber Eck & Braeckel LLP (KEB) (FY23 net revenue $33.6 million) announced the expansion of its Litchfield office through the successful acquisition of Fleming Tawfall. This development brings together two experienced and respected local accounting firms, significantly enhancing the capabilities and reach of KEB in the Litchfield area and surrounding communities.
As part of the acquisition, 11 team members, including one partner from Fleming Tawfall, have joined the KEB team. Combined with the existing staff, the new Litchfield office will now be home to 24 professionals, including accountants, consultants and administrative personnel— positioning the office as a leading provider of tax, consulting and accounting services in central Illinois.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the Fleming Tawfall team into the KEB family,” said Jereme Zook, partner at KEB. “This acquisition strengthens our presence in Litchfield and brings together a talented group of professionals who share our core values and commitment to client service.”
Strategically, this move supports KEB’s broader growth plans by strengthening local leadership, adding valuable succession resources and balancing support with the firms’ metro-area offices. For clients, it means more local expertise, greater accessibility and access to expanded services of the full KEB firm including wealth management, estate and trust planning and an enhanced team for farm tax consulting.
“This is an exciting step for our firm and our clients,” added Zook. “We’re uniting a talented, driven team that excels in client service while fostering a collaborative and enjoyable workplace culture. It’s a combination that positions us well for continued growth and new opportunities ahead.”
