Chicago-based IPA 100 firm Grant Thornton (FY23 net revenue of $2.4 billion) has appointed new leaders for asset management, energy and healthcare within its multinational industry practice.
Shona O’Hea, an advisory services partner based in Dublin, Ire., has been named the head of asset management. Tyler Jones, an audit & assurance services partner based in Dallas, has been named the head of energy, and Scott McGurl, a business consulting principal based in Tampa, Fla., has been named the head of healthcare.

As the head of asset management, O’Hea works with Grant Thornton’s international community of asset management professionals to identify trends and challenges facing the industry and create solutions to support and meet clients’ needs. She also serves as the global head of asset management for the Grant Thornton International Ltd network of member firms and has more than 20 years of experience providing global financial functions and operations solutions to asset and wealth managers and asset servicers.
As the head of energy, Jones leverages his 20 years of experience in public accounting — serving a variety of large audit engagements in both the public and private arena — to advise domestic and multinational energy clients. He has significant experience working with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants and has expertise in initial public offerings, short form registration statements, SEC comment letter responses and routine public filing requirements.
As Grant Thornton’s head of healthcare, McGurl has extensive experience across the healthcare and life sciences sectors, helping clients define and achieve both organic and inorganic growth. With nearly 30 years of experience, McGurl has helped guide businesses to shape their strategic growth agendas and execute transformational roadmaps that improve operating margins, enhance access to care and drive greater workforce effectiveness.
