Atlanta-based IPA 100 firm Smith + Howard (FY23 net revenue of $53.2 million) announces the appointment of Shaun Potter as principal, SOC audits, in the firm’s accounting and advisory group. In this role, Potter will focus on expanding Smith + Howard’s technology-driven services, specifically leading SOC reporting, cybersecurity and risk management initiatives.

Potter, an experienced leader in IT security, brings expertise in cybersecurity strategy and IT audit leadership. He joined Smith + Howard after most recently serving as chief information security officer at an SaaS and integrated payment solutions provider for governments across the U.S. During this tenure, Potter achieved 100% compliance with SOC 2 and PCI DSS certifications while leading a team of security professionals to strengthen the company’s overall security posture.
