Baker Tilly Appoints New CFO and Chief People Officer

Chicago-based Baker Tilly (FY24 net revenue of $1.72 billion) has appointed a new CFO, Sonia Webb, and a new Chief People Officer, Amy Ward.

“Our ability to serve our clients and elevate the team member experience depends on having leaders with the strategic vision and operational expertise to lead us through the next stage of our firm’s evolution,” said Baker Tilly CEO Jeff Ferro. “Sonia and Amy bring a wealth of experience in their respective fields, and I am confident they will play key roles in shaping our future success.”

Effective Sept. 18, Webb will step into the role of principal and CFO, bringing more than 20 years of financial leadership experience. Most recently, Webb served as CFO of Avanade – the leading Microsoft services provider – where she was responsible for global financial operations, investment strategy and financial planning across a workforce of 60,000 employees in 28 countries. Prior to that, she held several leadership positions at Accenture, focusing on operational efficiency, financial management and technological strategies.

“Joining Baker Tilly is an incredible opportunity to contribute to a firm focused on innovation and people,” said Webb. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive strategic growth while maintaining a strong focus on financial discipline, technology and operational excellence.”

Webb will oversee finance, enterprise technology, data and analytics and the firm’s administrative operations.

Ward assumed the role of principal and chief people officer effective Aug. 19. Ward brings extensive experience in human capital strategy, most recently as chief HR officer at MUFG Union Bank, where she led initiatives in culture development, talent management, diversity and organizational effectiveness. Her tenure at MUFG Union Bank and nearly 20 years at PNC Financial Services Group, where she held various leadership roles, give her a deep understanding of change management, organizational structuring, learning and organizational development.

“I am excited to join Baker Tilly at such a pivotal moment in its growth journey,” said Ward. “The opportunity to lead a people-focused strategy that prioritizes collaboration, innovation and inclusion is incredibly inspiring. I look forward to building on the strong foundation and ensuring people are empowered to achieve their fullest potential.”
