Looking to expand its footprint in North Carolina, Newport News, Va.-based IPA 100 firm PBMares LLP (FY21 net revenue of $63.3 million) is acquiring the Wilmington, N.C., office of Chicago-based IPA 100 firm RSM US LLP (FY22 net revenue of $3.31 billion).
“Our shared philosophy and commitment to client service will continue to be our guiding principle as we welcome the Wilmington team into the firm,” says PBMares CEO Harvey Johnson. “As a member of the RSM US Alliance, we have benefitted from a strong and enduring relationship with RSM and look forward to a strong future for the benefit of our clients.”
As a result of the acquisition, Wilmington RSM team members Charles Craft, A.A. Rickey Godwin, Robert Parker III, Jeremy Roberts and Rob Wagner have been admitted as partners at PBMares.
“We carefully considered the opportunity, with the right fit for our Wilmington clients and people as our highest priorities,” says Wagner, leader of the Wilmington office. “Our similar firm culture, client service focus and service offerings, coupled with the successful integration of the Morehead City and New Bern offices, makes PBMares an exciting choice for us.”
