Pittsburgh-based IPA 100 firm Schneider Downs & Co. Inc. (FY21 net revenue of $103.4 million) has named Justin Steele as the new practice unit leader in its tax advisory practice, and Staci Brogan as new practice unit leader for the firm’s accounting assurance and advisory practice.
Steele joined Schneider Downs in 2017 and was admitted as a shareholder in 2019. He is a member of the firm’s SEC practice group and manufacturing industry group. Steele assumes leadership of tax advisory from Sue Kirsch, who has led the practice since 2015 and who will continue her focus on client service and business development, as well as the continued evolution of the firm’s private family office practice.
Brogan joined Schneider Downs in 2005 and was admitted as a shareholder in 2013. She serves as the director of technical matters for the firm and is also a member of the assurance technical advisory committee, the leader of the firm’s not-for-profit services group and a member of the SEC services group. Brogan assumes leadership of the accounting assurance and advisory practice with the assistance of Don Applegarth, who has led the practice since 2017 and who will assume a new role as a market leader for the firm’s accounting advisory practice.
“Our firm’s long-term strategic plan envisioned our ability to transition leadership as new market opportunities became apparent,” says co-CEO Steve Thompson. “As Justin Steele and Staci Brogan become leaders of our tax and audit practices, we have the luxury of being able to deploy Sue Kirsch and Don Applegarth to lend their attentions to two of our fastest-growing sectors.”
