Todd Shapiro announced his plans to retire as president and CEO of the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) in February of 2023.

Shapiro joined ICPAS in 1998 and served as CFO for 14 years before being named president and CEO in 2013. Prior to joining ICPAS, he spent decades in financial and managerial positions with Unilever, Continental Bank, Helene Curtis, Quaker Oats and Zenith Electronics.

“It’s been an honor serving as president and CEO of the Illinois CPA Society,” says Shapiro. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with and strengthening the society’s relationships with our volunteer leaders, members, firms and companies across the state. I couldn’t be prouder of our position as a national thought leader.”

ICPAS has formed a search committee to oversee the process of identifying Shapiro’s successor.
