CPAmerica, an accounting association of independent CPA firms, has announced that the new chair of its board is Jackie Cardello, president and MP of IPA 200 firm GRF CPAs & Advisors of Bethesda, Md. (FY20 net revenue of $29.7 million). She succeeds Gregory Hammonds, MP of McDonough, Ga.-based Whaley Hammonds Tomasello Accountants & Advisors.
“I’m honored to be the chair of the board for this coming year and to be serving with such an accomplished and dedicated group of professionals,” says Cardello. “I’m especially thrilled to be working alongside Grace Horvath to support her in her new role as president. We have a really great group of members and I look forward to an exciting and successful year.”
Cardello’s appointment as chair marks the first time in the association’s history that there has been both a female board chair and a female CPAmerica president.
David Farnsworth, managing shareholder of West Des Moines, Iowa-based IPA 400 firm McGowen Hurst Clark & Smith (FY20 net revenue of $12 million) has been elected to the vice chair/chair-elect position. Joining Hammonds, Farnsworth and Cardello as returning members on the nine-member board are Shelly Bedford of Traverse City, Mich.-based IPA 400 firm Dennis Gartland & Niergrath (FY20 net revenue of $10.3 million), Greg Denning of Salt Lake City-based IPA 400 firm Larson & Company (FY20 net revenue of $12.2 million) and Seth McDaniel of Atlanta-based IPA 100 firm Frazier & Deeter LLC (FY20 net revenue of $120.9 million). The three newly elected board members are:
- Gary Anglin of Traverse City, Mich.-based IPA 300 firm Anglin Reichmann Armstrong PC (FY20 net revenue of $12.7 million).
- John Lerias of Ontario, Canada-based GYL LLP.
- Shane Rohrbach of IPA 300 firm Gollob Morgan Peddy PC of Tyler, Texas (FY20 net revenue of $14.7 million).
