BPM Appoints Brian Finnegan as COO

San Francisco-based IPA 100 firm BPM (FY25 net revenue of $255.2 million) has appointed Brian Finnegan as COO.

Finnegan, who currently leads the firm’s assurance practice group, succeeds Carl Sorboro, who is expected to retire at the end of the year.

Finnegan has more than 25 years of public accounting experience and joined BPM in 2002. As assurance practice group leader, he has overseen the development of the firm’s audit and attest services, expanded its national capabilities and worked on quality initiatives.

As COO, Finnegan will oversee firmwide operations, business processes and strategic execution. He will work with CEO Nick Steiner and the firm’s leadership team on BPM’s growth and operational priorities.

“Brian is a trusted leader with deep operational insight and a strong commitment to BPM’s values,” Steiner said. “His ability to bring people together, elevate quality, and drive strategic execution makes him the right person to step into this role.”

“BPM is at an exciting inflection point,” Finnegan said. “I’m committed to strengthening our operational foundation, supporting our colleagues’ development, and ensuring we deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and our people.”
