BGM Expands New England Presence with Connecticut Firm

Bloomington, Minn.-based IPA 200 firm BGM (FY25 net revenue of $27.9 million) has combined with Norwalk, Conn.-based R. L. DePanfilis & Company, establishing BGM’s presence in Connecticut and further expanding its New England footprint.

R. L. DePanfilis & Company will operate under the BGM name. Partners David W. Gibbs and Kenneth T. Miller, along with the firm’s team, will continue serving clients from its Norwalk office.

Founded in 1979, R. L. DePanfilis & Company provides tax, accounting, audit and business consulting services to businesses, individuals, estates and trusts. Its services include tax planning and compliance, multistate and foreign tax filings, financial reporting, business succession planning, due diligence and estate and trust work.

“R. L. DePanfilis & Company brings more than four decades of local market knowledge, technical skill and close client relationships to BGM,” said Dane J. Boeckermann, CEO and principal of BGM. He said the combination gives the firm a stronger base in New England and additional opportunities for collaboration.

The transaction follows BGM’s August combination with Norwood, Mass.-based John T. Chipman & Company, which established its first Northeast office.

Joe Tarasco, CEO of Accountants Advisory Group, advised both parties on the R. L. DePanfilis transaction.
