RKL Names Mike De Stefano CEO

Lancaster, Pa.-based IPA 100 firm RKL (FY25 net revenue of $148.2 million) named Mike De Stefano CEO.

De Stefano succeeds Ed Monborne, who served as CEO for 15 years and will retire in December. During Monborne’s tenure, RKL grew from a regional accounting firm into an advisory firm serving clients across the U.S. and internationally.

De Stefano began his public accounting career at RKL, working in the firm’s tax and audit services groups for 14 years. He returned to RKL in 2019 as CFO and became COO in 2022. Rachel Sargent became COO in August 2025 as part of the firm’s planned leadership transition.

“I’m excited for this next chapter for RKL,” De Stefano said. “We remain focused on delivering the client service, trusted advice and deep expertise our clients count on while continuing to build on the firm’s strong momentum.”

RKL also announced leadership changes at RKL Private Wealth. David Morais has succeeded Laurie Peer as president, while Tom Reardon has become executive vice president, both effective Sept. 1.

Morais joined RKL Private Wealth in 2018 and has nearly two decades of experience in banking, financial services and wealth advisory. Peer will retire in December after 34 years with RKL.
