Atlanta-based IPA 100 firm Aprio (FY25 net revenue of $681.3 million) announced that it received accreditation from the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to certify organizations against ISO/IEC 42001, an international standard for artificial intelligence management systems.
The accreditation, effective April 24, expands Aprio’s existing ISO certification program into AI governance. The firm is now authorized to conduct accredited ISO/IEC 42001 certification audits and issue certificates to organizations that develop, deploy or use AI systems.
ISO/IEC 42001 establishes requirements for creating, maintaining and improving an AI management system. The standard addresses how organizations manage ethical, organizational and technical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle.
ANAB accreditation confirms that Aprio meets recognized requirements for the consistency, competence and impartiality of its certification work. Aprio’s existing ANAB-accredited program also covers ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301 and ISO 9001.
The accreditation expands Aprio’s ability to help organizations independently validate their AI governance practices as regulatory, customer and stakeholder expectations continue to evolve.
