Goode will succeed co-CEOs Steven Thompson and Chris McElroy, whose terms conclude June 30. The transition follows a scheduled succession process and was unanimously approved by the firm’s shareholders in accordance with partnership bylaws.

Thompson and McElroy have served as co-CEOs since 2020, guiding Schneider Downs through a period of strategic growth, new product launches and expansion into the Washington, D.C. market. Both will remain involved with the firm, providing counsel to Goode and the leadership team while continuing to focus on creating value for the firm and its clients.

Goode joined Schneider Downs in 2007 and helped launch the firm’s accounting advisory and managed accounting services practices. He has led the evolution and repositioning of the consulting division and currently serves on the firm’s operating committee, supporting overall strategy and execution.

“I am deeply honored to be elected CEO of Schneider Downs and to become part of such a distinguished history of leadership,” Goode said. “I am grateful for the collaborative leadership that has shaped our firm and for the support of Chris McElroy and Steve Thompson as I step into this role.”

The transition marks the firm’s move from a co-CEO model, adopted in 2014, to a single CEO structure. The change was recommended by Thompson and McElroy in collaboration with the firm’s board of directors to support a unified vision for the future.
