Meridian, Idaho-based IPA Top 100 firm Sorren (FY24 net revenue of $114.98 million) has announced that Hess & Rohmer, a full-service CPA and advisory firm, has joined its national network. The move strengthens Sorren’s presence in Texas, building on its existing Houston footprint while combining Hess & Rohmer’s established client relationships with Sorren’s national resources and advisory capabilities.
Established in 1999 by Brian Hess and Melody Rohmer, Hess & Rohmer was founded on a relationship-driven approach to client service. That philosophy, grounded in the belief that a firm’s success is directly tied to client success, has supported steady growth and service expansion over time.
“From the beginning, it was clear our firms share a common approach to serving clients and supporting our people,” said Josh Tyree, CEO of Sorren. “Together, we’re strengthening our ability to serve Texas businesses with the personal attention of a local firm backed by the reach and resources of a national network.”
“The alignment in our values, culture and vision was unmistakable,” said Hess, MP of Hess & Rohmer. “It positions us to create meaningful opportunities for our people, our communities and our clients now and into the future.”
Sorren was formed in 2025 through the combination of regional firms with private equity backing. The firm’s mission is to build a forward-thinking, nationally connected organization that remains deeply rooted in local markets.
Allan D. Koltin, CEO of Koltin Consulting Group, who advised both firms on the deal commented, “Sorren’s amazing growth trajectory continues with the acquisition of Dallas based, Hess & Rohmer. Hess & Rohmer had been courted by numerous larger firms but selected Sorren as the perfect cultural and strategic fit for their people and its clients.
The additional resources that Sorren will bring to the table will allow Hess & Rohmer to offer added depth and expertise to their clients and provide additional growth opportunities for their people.”
