Sikich Announces Three New Leadership Roles Amid Continued Growth

Chicago-based Sikich (FY24 net revenue of $438.87 million) has announced three newly created leadership roles within its compliance practice as the firm continues to grow and expand market share. 

The expanded roles include Melanie BarnesMatt Denton and Kurt Walcutt, who will assume additional responsibilities across assurance, growth and tax. 

Melanie Barnes, CPA, will lead assurance while continuing to oversee the firm’s for-profit assurance practice. Barnes brings more than 20 years of public accounting and industry experience and has played a key role in the growth of Sikich’s for-profit assurance services. In her expanded role, she will oversee client compliance needs to help organizations efficiently scale throughout the life of their business. 

Matt Denton, CPA, MBA, will lead growth initiatives in a newly elevated role. Denton has been with the firm for 12 years and has built long-standing client relationships across core industries. He will leverage that experience to deliver growth strategies across the practice and for clients. 

Kurt Walcutt, CPA, will assume leadership of tax, drawing on more than 35 years of experience providing accounting, tax and business advisory services. His expertise includes tax planning, corporate structure, estate planning, merger and acquisition transactions and succession planning across a range of industries.
