David A. Coates
Albuquerque-based IPA 100 firm REDW Advisors & CPAs (FY24 net revenue of $65.04 million) has announced the appointment of David A. Coates, CPA, PFS, as principal in its national tax services practice. Coates, based in the firm’s Pacific Northwest office, will support REDW’s nationwide tax practice and its remote and global workforce.
Coates will focus on tax-efficient strategies for high-net-worth individuals, family groups, construction companies and other privately held businesses. His responsibilities include client service, mentorship of emerging professionals and business development.
Coates brings more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and wealth management. He previously served as CEO and managing partner of Frost & Company PLLC, overseeing firm operations and leading strategic growth. Most recently, he was a tax principal at a professional services firm specializing in real estate and complex tax planning.
