Chicago-based Grant Thornton Advisors LLC (FY24 net revenue of $2.37 billion) has expanded its multinational integrated platform with the addition of Grant Thornton France, Grant Thornton Spain and Grant Thornton Belgium.
The move builds on the firm’s January 2025 launch of its multinational platform, supported by New Mountain Capital, and follows recent acquisitions of member firms in the U.S., Ireland, the UAE, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Cayman Islands, Luxembourg and the Channel Islands. With the new additions, 11 Grant Thornton member firms are now operating together under the unified platform.
The expansion accelerates growth across Europe, strengthening Grant Thornton Advisors’ cross-border advisory and tax offerings while maintaining independent audit practices. Grant Thornton France adds 2,800 employees across 24 offices, serving CAC 40 and SBF 120 leaders, middle-market companies and public entities. Grant Thornton Spain brings nearly 900 professionals across 10 locations, with sector expertise in financial services, mobility and energy. Grant Thornton Belgium adds more than 250 professionals across seven locations, providing audit, tax, legal and advisory services with a strong focus on cross-border mandates and M&A.
“Expanding the platform into France, Spain and Belgium is a defining chapter in our journey and represents a sea change in how our industry serves clients,” said Jim Peko, CEO of Grant Thornton Advisors LLC. “We’re solidifying Grant Thornton as the platform of choice for talent and technology, underpinned by exceptional quality and our one-of-a-kind culture.”
Platform leaders noted the strategic importance of the additions. Steve Tennant, MP of Grant Thornton Ireland, said the expansion builds on the momentum of Ireland’s early integration. Adam Nicol, president of Grant Thornton France, said the move allows the firm to “rapidly accelerate our scale in Europe.” Ramón Galcerán, president of Grant Thornton Spain, and Leslie Van den Branden, MP of Grant Thornton Belgium, each highlighted the access to technology, capital and collaboration that the platform model brings.
With the additions, the Grant Thornton Advisors platform now has nearly 60 offices and 14,000 professionals, while remaining part of the Grant Thornton International Ltd. network of member firms in more than 150 markets worldwide.
