Dean Dorton President Announces Retirement, Successor Named

Lexington, Ky.-based IPA 100 firm Dean Dorton (FY24 net revenue of $98.51 million) has announced that longtime president and CEO David Bundy will retire at the end of 2025. He will be succeeded by Jason Miller, who will take over as president and CEO effective Jan. 1, 2026.

Bundy, who has led the firm since 2012, guided Dean Dorton through significant transformation and expansion into new markets, establishing it as a nationally recognized business advisory leader. Under his leadership, the firm has been named among the IPA Top 100, consistently ranked as one of the fastest-growing firms, and earned repeated recognition as a Best of the Best firm.

“I shared with our board in January that 2025 would be my last year as CEO,” said Bundy. “As my last day grows closer, I have more time to reflect on all that we have done. Mostly, I am amazed that through years of significant change, at our core, we are the same firm I walked into over 25 years ago. Our founders laid such a solid foundation—one built on exceptional client service and a deep respect for our team members.”

Miller, who has been with the firm for more than 20 years, most recently led the firm’s technology and advisory services group. “I appreciate the opportunity to follow not only what David has helped build, but our founders who defined our culture so many years ago,” he said.

“I have worked closely with Jason and have watched his career develop over the last 20 years,” added Bundy. “I cannot be more excited about the future of the firm under his leadership. I believe he is uniquely positioned to continue our momentum into the future.”
