Weaver Expands in California with IPA 400 Acquisition

Houston-based IPA 100 firm Weaver (FY22 net revenue of $197.6 million) is merging in IPA 400 firm HKG LLC (FY21 net revenue of $11.3 million) of Pasadena, Calif.

Founded in 1995, HKG provides audit, tax and accounting services to clients across an array of industries including private equity, health care/life sciences, manufacturing and distribution, real estate, media, professional services, early stage and emerging growth companies, and not-for-profit. The deal adds 65 professionals, including seven partners, to the Weaver team in Southern California. HKG MP Eric (Tony) Gronroos will serve as PIC of Weaver’s Los Angeles tax services practice and as a Los Angeles executive partner, responsible for the Pasadena office.

“HKG is the right strategic and cultural fit for Weaver,” says Weaver CEO and MP John Mackel. “We share an unwavering commitment to client success, acting with integrity and always striving to transcend expectations. Clients of both firms will benefit from the additional services and knowledge base across our teams and regions.”
