LaChance

Lucas LaChance, practice growth partner at Dallas-based IPA 200 firm Lane Gorman Trubitt (LGT) (FY21 net revenue of $23.5 million), has received the Association for Accounting Marketing’s (AAM) 2023 Marketer of the Year award. The winner was announced on May 8 at AAM’s Annual Summit in Salt Lake City.

LaChance leads LGT’s brand visibility, awareness and engagement strategies, heading up a team that oversees business development and sales, marketing plan development, public relations, client experience, as well as social media, staff training and strategic planning. Prior to taking the role of director of practice growth for the firm in 2015, he spent the previous eight years as an auditor.

In 2022, LGT acquired two smaller firms and LaChance’s team handled all internal and external communication and oversaw the onboarding and data of two new client bases. His team also helped lay the foundation for the launch of the firm’s first satellite office in Houston.

“Lucas’s contributions to the firm and its clients extend beyond economic value, encompassing relationship-building, strategic planning and innovative thinking,” says LGT MP Lee Ann Collins. “His impact on the firm has been transformative, leading to increased revenue, expanded networks and a strengthened market presence. His leadership and vision have positioned the firm for continued success and growth in the future.”

In addition to Marketer of the Year, AAM also recognized the following three professionals for special honors:

Carrie Steffen, president and co-founder of The Whetstone Group, was inducted into the AAM Hall of Fame. Steffen has more than 25 years of professional services marketing experience and has been an active AAM member since 1996. She has been a board member, serving two terms as the AAM treasurer and chair of the finance committee, and currently serves on AAM’s technology advisory committee.

Joe Kovacs, director of marketing and business development for Bethesda, Md.-based IPA 300 firm Councilor Buchanan & Mitchell PC (FY21 net revenue of $20.6 million), was named Volunteer of the Year. A member of AAM since 2010, Kovacs has served on the board of directors for two terms and has led the strategic communications committee.

Lily Morris, communications specialist at Vienna, Va.-based IPA 200 firm Johnson Lambert LLP (FY21 net revenue of $36.3 million), was named Rookie of the Year.
