Boulay Names New MP

Johnson

Tom Johnson will become the new MP of Minneapolis-based IPA 200 firm Boulay PLLP (FY21 net revenue of $39.7 million) effective June 1. He succeeds Steve Behrns, who has served as MP since 2016 and is retiring.

“It’s been an honor to have had the opportunity to serve as Boulay’s managing partner over the past six years,” says Behrns. “After 40 years with the firm, I look forward to spending more time with my family and taking on new adventures in retirement. Tom will provide excellent leadership that allows Boulay to continue to grow and prosper.”

Johnson has been with Boulay for his entire career, was admitted as a partner in 1998 and is a member of the firm’s board. He previously led the tax department as PIC of tax services, and currently provides taxation and management consulting services for clients in a wide range of industries, specializing in real estate-related endeavors and transaction planning and structuring.

“Providing a place for our employees and partners to follow their passion and successfully practice their craft is critical to providing value to our clients and is a top priority for me,” says Johnson. “Our traditional service lines and our consulting practice build off of each other and growing these offerings in tandem expands opportunities for the growth of our people.”
