Chicago-based IPA 100 firm Grant Thornton LLP (FY20 net revenue of $1.9 billion) has named Seth Siegel as its CEO-elect. Siegel will succeed current CEO Brad Preber upon his retirement in July of 2022, after almost two decades in leadership roles at the firm.

“I have strived to serve our clients, our people and our communities throughout my career at the firm, including my time as CEO,” says Preber, who assumed the CEO role just months before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading Grant Thornton to record-breaking business performance and profitability. “I know Seth shares my stalwart commitment to the firm, and I look forward to watching him bring his exceptional talents to the CEO post.”

Siegel joined Grant Thornton in 1996 and became a partner in 2006. He served as the firm’s Florida audit practice leader from 2012 to 2019, overseeing five offices in the state, and previously led the Florida real estate, construction and hospitality industry group. He currently serves as MP for South Florida, which includes offices in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and is also a member of the partnership board.

During his tenure with the firm, Siegel has also served on the audit quality advisory council, as well as the inaugural experience leadership council, which has helped shape strategic and operational decisions across all service lines and geographies.

“Seth is the ideal person to lead our firm during a time of rapid change in our profession,” says Jim Wittmer, chairman of the partnership board. “He combines a deep understanding of the challenges our clients face with a focused vision for our future that will accelerate our growth and empower our people to deliver the value and quality our clients expect and deserve.”
