Richmond, Va.-based IPA 100 firm Cherry Bekaert (FY21 net revenue of $252.1 million) has admitted Daniel Mennel as a tax partner with its strategic tax advisory services.
Mennel will help lead the credits and accounting methods practice and will be responsible for R&D tax credit services in the firm’s West Coast region, as well as expanding the credits and accounting methods technology solutions in all marketplaces.
Mannel has more than two decades of experience helping clients perform studies, implement R&D software solutions and negotiate IRS and state agency settlements. Prior to joining Cherry Bekaert, he was a tax partner with a top 10 accounting and advisory firm and also spent 10 years building the West Coast R&D practice for a Big 4 firm.
“[Dan’s] knowledge of R&D tax credits and experience of working in our key industry areas will play an important role in the growth of our cash recovery services,” says Martin Karamon, principal in the strategic tax advisory services group and a leader of the credits and accounting methods practice. “His strong relationships with technology companies in the western U.S. region will help the firm expand into these new markets.”
