New York-based IPA 100 firm Marcum LLP has expanded its national financial accounting and advisory services (FAAS) practice with the acquisition of CFO outsourcing firm Starter-Fluid LLC of Canton, Mass.
Starter-Fluid provides smaller firms and startups with on-demand access to services ranging from bookkeeping to strategic accounting to finance. As part of the deal, the firm’s founder and CEO David Chapman will join Marcum as a principal, along with two managing directors and 10 additional associates. The group will be based in Marcum’s Boston office.
“Specialized knowledge and practical experience are sometimes the missing ingredients needed to help clients protect the integrity and continuity of their accounting, finance and business operations,” says Marcum advisory partner and national FAAS leader Ethan Brysgel. “The Starter-Fluid professionals are highly accomplished at helping clients build out and broaden their capabilities and strengthen their finance functions.”
