Bernard Skalla, CEO of Star Professional Software Solutions, announced that the company will offer its leading practice management software in the cloud.
Star’s cloud platform will be available to early adopters from the fourth quarter of 2019, and will become generally available sometime in 2020.
Star offers practice management software for accounting firms and other professional services organizations of all sizes. These include regional and national offices of the Big 4 practices and many members of the main international associations.
Clients will be offered various service levels, including a full managed services suite that will reduce up-front costs with Star managing infrastructure and data. In conjunction with this, Star also announced that it plans to release a series of application programming interfaces (APIs) to provide integration with other applications. These APIs will potentially cover client, job, contact and staff data as well as transactional areas such as time entry, expense entry, budgeting and scheduling.
Star Practice Management already provides integration with a wide range of other applications covering areas such as CRM, HR, accounting and tax, and APIs will enable Star clients to expand functionality. Star will continue to provide and support ‘on-premise’ solutions. This is when firms want to retain control of their practice management environment and infrastructure. These clients can transfer to the cloud option with no changes.
