Bluefield, W. Va.-based Brown Edwards (FY14 net revenue of $25.1 million) announced the election of four new partners: Kristie Hancock-Clifton, James Fries, Betty Jessee and Jeffrey Barbour.

Fries is based in the Harrisonburg, Va., office as an assurance partner. He has a wide range of experience in working with employee benefit plans and not-for-profit organizations, including foundations, health care entities, community action agencies and other social service organizations. He also serves clients in manufacturing, utilities and physician practices.
Jessee serves the firm as the taxation partner in the Bristol, Va., office where her focus is tax and consulting for corporate, partnership and non-profit clients. She also works with high-wealth individuals planning estates and trusts.
Barbour is a taxation partner in the Roanoke, Va., office where he specializes in the taxation of consolidated and multi-state corporations, corporate mergers and acquisitions as well as individual taxation and small business consulting. He works with a range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, dealerships, construction and real estate.
