Calgary-based MNP is merging in Port Moody, British Columbia-based firm The Newport Group. Founded in 2002, The Newport Group focuses on accounting, advising and tax services for clients in industries ranging from construction and manufacturing to transportation and logistics.
In a separate deal, MNP is also bringing on partners Loui Mellios and Suki Pang from Vancouver, British Columbia-based firm Masuch + Mellios LLP. Masuch + Mellios has provided accounting, assurance, reorganization and business valuations, personal wealth and financial planning, estate and trust planning, management advisory services and taxation services to clients for more than 30 years.
“We are growing fast but we’re absolutely committed to maintaining our culture and so have always been very strategic about who we invite to join our team,” says Darren Turchansky, MNP’s executive vice president for British Columbia. “We are known across the communities we work with as being one of Canada’s most-trusted accounting, tax and business consulting firms, so we are excited to welcome both The Newport Group CPA and Loui and Suki and their team members into the MNP family. Our cultures and values are well aligned, and we share the same entrepreneurial, trusted approach to doing business.”
