Cincinnati-based IPA 200 firm Barnes Dennig & Co. Ltd. (FY19 net revenue of $22.9 million) is merging in Thorn Lewis + Duncan of Dayton, Ohio.
Founded in 1985, Thorn Lewis + Duncan provides accounting and tax services to clients in the Dayton area, with specialties in automobile dealerships and health care providers. As part of the deal, the firm’s 25 employees will join the Barnes Dennig team, including shareholder Don Schrodi, who will join the Barnes Dennig executive committee.
“The culture is one big reason for the merger – we’ve known these guys for so long,” says Barnes Dennig managing director Jay Rammes. “And this gives us a substantial presence in Dayton, where we have a lot of clients. This is a great strategic opportunity to build on the existing success of both firms and increase the breadth and depth of services we offer.”
