Springfield, Mo.-based IPA 100 firm BKD LLP (FY20 net revenue of $694.9 million) has selected Abe Cole as the firm’s new COO to succeed the retiring Eric Hansen.
“The COO plays a critical role in BKD’s success, with the responsibility of promoting firmwide operational excellence, which is one of the hallmarks that set BKD apart,” says CEO-elect Tom Watson. “Abe’s skill set is perfectly suited to keep us on top of our game when it comes to taking care of our business.”
A 24-year veteran of BKD, Cole currently serves as the regional MP for the firm’s eight-state north region. Prior to becoming regional MP, he was MP of BKD’s offices in Kansas City, Mo., Des Moines, Iowa, and Madison, Wis. During his time with the firm, Cole has worked closely with the higher education and insurance practices and continues to advise on technical matters and business development efforts in these industries.
“Abe has an impressive track record as a builder,” says CEO Ted Dickman. “He has led growth in our firm by using his skills to further develop BKD practices and offered mentorship that has led many BKDers to leadership positions within our firm.”
