Weaver Grows Its OKC Tax Practice

Houston-based IPA 100 firm Weaver (FY20 net revenue of $150.5 million) is expanding its recently opened Oklahoma City office with the addition of tax partners Mark Sheets and Kirby Ross. The pair will bring with them to Weaver senior manager Rhonda Goddard and six additional tax professionals from their former Oklahoma City-based firm, where Sheets had been a founding shareholder.

Sheets has more than 37 years of experience in the accounting profession, serving both business and individual tax clients in the oil and gas, real estate and non-profit industries, as well as large family offices. He left EY after a decade to form a tax-only firm with two colleagues and merged with another group 15 years later to form the full-service accounting firm HSPG & Associates. Ross joined HSPG in 2010 after 10 years with Eide Bailly, and has more than 25 years of experience serving business and individual tax clients in the oil and gas, real estate, construction, health care and non-profit industries.

“We are excited to add new team members to serve the Oklahoma market with both the technical skills and values that align closely with ours, including an unwavering commitment to client success and transcending expectations,” says Weaver CEO and MP John Mackel. “Mark, Kirby, Rhonda and the team are a great fit as Weaver continues to expand its services and capabilities in Oklahoma.”
