Manish Tomar has joined Chicago-based Grant Thornton (FY14 net revenue of $1.4 billion) as chief information officer, based in the firm’s Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., office. In this role, he will oversee Grant Thornton’s internal IT function and related programs.
Tomar has nearly 20 years of business and IT leadership experience, with a focus on transformation initiatives.

Tomar joins Grant Thornton from Computer Sciences Corp., where he served for more than 10 years in various roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he was vice president and general manager for application services, with full profit and loss responsibility for a division of more than 15,000 people worldwide and nearly $2 billion in revenue, for which he successfully increased profitability and revenue growth.
