Buffalo, N.Y.-based Freed Maxick (FY15 net revenue of $43.8 million) has announced a new position, professional development officer, filled by Janice Moceri.
Moceri will focus solely on firm-wide professional development, career counseling, and mentoring and training of employees. Previously Moceri was a senior manager in the audit department.
“The fruition of this specific position was unique in the sense that it was a hybrid – we knew it was something we wanted to implement, but we also listened to our employees through all of the different internal communication programs we have with them – they were truly the drivers to create this,” states Richard J. Wright, tax director and head of the HR department.
“As directors of the firm we are confident that this role will best serve our people, and will help with their career development path – whatever that may be. It was a natural transition for us and Janice was the perfect fit, and has the aptitude and temperament for it.”
Moceri joined the firm after four years with PricewaterhouseCoopers and concentrated in the employee benefit plan, manufacturing, real estate and not-for-profit services areas.
