Accountingfly, an accounting job-searching site, has purchased GoingConcern.com, an online accounting news publication.
Accountingfly announced Tuesday that the publication will continue to operate independently and that founding editor Caleb Newquist will maintain his position while becoming the new head of content for Accountingfly.
“Joining forces with Going Concern means we have more opportunities to provide meaningful content to accountants earlier in their careers,” Jeff Phillips, CEO for Accountingfly, said in a statement. He went on to say that the acquisition also helps accounting employers looking for new ways to connect with early-career accountants.
“Together, Accountingfly and Going Concern offer the largest community of young accountants online,” he says.
Going Concern provides an alternative perspective on accounting news, with original editorial content and analysis. Going Concern is formerly a member of Sift Media’s family of sites. Sift Media is also a publisher of AccountingWEB, another online accounting news site.
“As a result of this sale, we’ll be able to invest further resource and energy into building the AccountingWEB brand and audience, globally,” Tom Dunkerley, managing director of Sift Media, said in a statement.
