Greensboro, N.C.-based Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co. LLP (FY13 net revenue of $8.5 million) announced the firm’s name change to DMJ & Co. PLLC effective Oct. 16. The firm is also celebrating its 65th anniversary year.
Established on Nov. 1, 1949, DMJ was founded by P.E. Davenport as a small two-person accounting firm in Greensboro. Today, DMJ has grown to include 10 partners and the wealth management firm, DMJ Wealth Advisors LLC.
DMJ MP Mike Gillis says, “This anniversary year marks two significant milestones for DMJ. The formal shift to ‘DMJ & Co. PLLC’ reflects a community name most associated with our firm. Sixty-five years in business is also worth celebrating, in addition to our continued commitment to our community, and our business and industry sectors.”
Over the last two decades, DMJ has expanded its operations to include servicing clients across North Carolina, the Southeast, the nation and the globe, including international business consulting services. In addition to the firm’s traditional accounting and auditing services, the firm now provides a host of specialized services to clients in the commercial and private sector, such as medical and dental practice consulting, succession planning, litigation support, technology consulting, cost segregation, business valuation and financial planning.
