While there are individual firms across all revenue bands that far exceed the average for net income per partner for their group, on average, the larger firms continue to turn in enviable numbers. This is due primarily to higher leverage, specialty non-traditional services and the ability to charge higher rates.
The $5 million to $50 million firms offer a smorgasbord of initiatives, specialty practice areas and strategic activities that are working for many, but are not consistently growing the aggregates of each revenue band. Firms in this range are competing heavily for talent and often find themselves in bidding wars for assurance services from larger firms trying to regain market share.
