Terry Parker has been elected to serve as the 2014-2015 chair of The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA). In this role, Parker leads a membership of almost 14,000 CPAs across Georgia.
Parker will focus on leveraging technology to improve professional learning experiences, promoting GSCPA’s tradition of member involvement, and ensuring the successful transfer of the Georgia State Board of Accountancy from the Office of the Secretary of State to the State Accounting Office.
Parker called the transition an important change for CPAs in Georgia. “This move will provide greater independence and operational effectiveness for our state board.”
Parker, a partner at Clifton, Lipford, Hardison & Parker LLC of Macon, Ga., has been a member of GSCPA since 1989. Parker has served on GSCPA’s board of directors, the board of GSCPA’s Middle Georgia Chapter, the Educational Foundation and a number of committees. In addition to his service to GSCPA, Parker is also a trustee for the Georgia Federal Tax Conference and a member of the Florida Institute of CPAs.
