CohnReznick is the name of the newly merged firm made up of Roseland, N.J.-based JH Cohn (FY12 net revenue of $252.05 million) and Bethesda, Md.-based Reznick Group (FY12 net revenue of $215.20 million).
The new firm will be headquartered in New York, though the heart of its operations will remain in Roseland, co-chief executive officer Thomas Marino told The Star-Ledger. The combined firm will have roughly 2,000 employees, 25 offices and $450 million in revenues. Terms weren’t fully disclosed, but Marino said the two firms were equal partners in the deal.
“It was as close as you could come to a merger of the equals,” he says. Marino, previously CEO of JH Cohn, will lead the company with Ken Baggett, former CEO of the Reznick Group. The arrangement will last for three years, after which point the firm’s partners will vote on who will lead the company, Marino says.
